As a spiritual and pastoral praxis, it is designed to help participants better understand the spiritual needs and struggles of those who have worked in combat zones. Carrie Doehring, associate professor of pastoral care and counseling, and Larry Graham, professor of pastoral theology and care, designed the course and will be joined in teaching this weekend praxis by, Chaplain, Col John Thompson, USAF (Ret.), Chaplain, Lt Col David Pendleton, USAFR, Chaplain (LTC) David R. Brock, USA (Retired), and Chaplain, Capt Dallas Little. African Christianity Rising - Stories from Zimbabwe Iliff School of Theology Description: Iliff will host a screening of the film “African Christianity Rising – Stories from Zimbabwe.” Award-winning filmmaker and scholar James Ault, with funding from the Pew Charitable Trusts and the John Templeton Foundation, has produced this new documentary. Ault shot more than 300 hours of footage in Ghana and Zimbabwe—filming United Methodists, Presbyterians, and Pentecostals, as well as conducting interviews with leading theologians, including the late Kwame Bediako—in order to produce two films that portray the range of churches in contemporary Africa. Social Justice Praxis: Ecological Justice Iliff School of Theology This Social Change Praxis: Ecological Justice course will be taught by J. Kemper Will, a recognized environmental and founding lawyer of Denver law firm, Burns, Figa and Wills. Will brings expertise from the legal, commercial and theological aspects of environmental justice as he is a lawyer, a manager of a mining firm in Colorado, and studied in a Jesuit seminary.
